Bad news… We are all born with the propensity to do wrong (An inclination or natural tendency to behave in a particular way) … every one of us… and sometimes we get stuck.
Good news… “You used to do these things”… that tells me that no sin, no matter how horrible, can hold me forever if I allow God to set me free. Woo Hoo!!

Colossians 3:5-7 (NLT)
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.
7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.

Will you pray this with me today?
God, I have thoughts and future actions lurking within me today. I don’t want this habit any longer. When tired, lonely or stressed I have a natural tendency to reach out to this habit. I want to learn to reach out to you instead. I know it won’t be easy. I may even fight this for the rest of my life but I have hope that if I fight with you instead of against you, I will win the battle and I too will be able to say, “I once did these things… but not any more!” God, help me run to Jesus, who defeated sin and death for me.
