Connecting is important to God… you… and others.  Paul helps us understand by using the idea of a body.

1 Cor. 12:27  “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it”.

That helps us make sense of how important connecting to God and others really is.  As part of the body, you shouldn’t be emotionally cut off… or amputated from the body.  You will lose your blood supply if you are amputated and alone.  You will never survive and never thrive.  Paul goes on…  “The eye cannot say to the hand,‘I don’t need you!’ If one part suffers, every part suffers with it” (1 Cor. 12:21, 26).

There is no such thing as a growing, maturing, isolated Christ-follower.

Today… move toward some growing Christ-followers instead of keeping your distance.  You know how wonderful it feels for someone to step toward you and want to understand your heart.  That is exactly what God does toward us.  But this side of heaven, it is difficult for other people to see through all the fronts we project.  They can’t see what our hearts really need and they can’t see how alone we really are. So… step toward them and quit waiting for them to come to you.
